We are building a quieter place to work.
Velora started as an argument about why every productivity tool ends up demanding the attention it promised to protect. It is now a concept product, built in public, that tries to answer it.
- 01
Attention is the scarce resource
Not time. Most people have more hours than they have uninterrupted ones, and the second number is the one that determines what gets made.
- 02
The best tool is the one you forget
Software that needs tending becomes another job. Velora is built to be useful without being visited, which is a harder brief than it sounds.
- 03
Restraint is a feature
An assistant that always has something to say trains you to stop listening. Saying nothing on a quiet day is the harder and more valuable behaviour.
- 04
Consent is not a setting
A tool that reads your work has to make what it can see obvious and reversible. If you cannot answer what does this know about me, something has gone wrong.
Most software competes for your attention. We would rather earn the right to be ignored on the days you do not need us.
- 2024
Three people, one shared frustration: every tool meant to organise the day had become another thing to check.
- 2025
The first working version. A daily read, a capture box, and nothing else. Most of the year was spent deleting.
- 2026
Context controls rebuilt from scratch after the universal inbox failed. Velora becomes a design study, published openly.
Tell us what breaks your day.
We read everything. The best parts of the product came from someone describing a problem we had not considered.
