About

Nora Veldt edits the Velora Journal. Before that she spent eight years as a product writer, mostly on tools people are forced to use rather than choose, which she describes as the best possible training for writing about software people might actually want.

Her interest is narrow and stubborn: what happens to a working day when the tools meant to organise it start competing for the same attention they were supposed to protect. She reads the research, then goes looking for the places it breaks down in practice.

She writes the Friday piece most weeks, and edits everything else.
